Research

Antonio Scialoja, known as Toti Scialoja (Rome, 1914 - Rome, 1998), was an Italian painter and poet. He has been called an original and multifaceted artist. After an expressionist period, he was oriented towards abstract, concrete pictorial language with a strong material charge. Since 1961 he started an original work of poet, devoting himself to nonsense and limerick, illustrating his own poems .

He begins very soon to demonstrate a versatile artistic talent, both as a painter and as a poet. In 1939 his drawings were signaled by the jury of the Quadriennale of Rome and in 1940 realized his first personal exhibition in Genoa.During the war and before attending the Resistance he exhibited in Rome with Giulio Turcato and Emilio Vedova.
