Research

Italian photographer, began his professional career in the late sixties, quickly establishing itself abroad in the fields of advertising and industrial. His works, mostly made with small size, denoting particular chromatic sensitivity and care in emphasizing the presence of abstract details in the representation of reality.

He began working as an amateur photographer in 1961. His first personal exposition was in 1968 in Modena. He is known as the inventor of the photographic line referred to as concept of line His publications include: Terra da leggere  (Terra to read) (1973); Skyline (1978), Paesaggio urbano (Urban landscape) (1980); Presenzassenza (1982); Fullcolor (1983); Fotografie1965 - 1987 (Photographs) (1987); Small and large nudes (1995). In the following years the artist has confirmed its particular sense of color, refined through a particular care in highlighting listings abstract in the mesh of reality. Significant in this sense are the two photos entitled London, where the big city is visualized by the signs of the street. Since then he has participated in more than 400 expositions – group and solo - and his work is bought in approximately 60 museum collections all over the world, among them the Metropolitan Museum of Tokyo, the  National Gallery of Bejing, the Australian National Gallery of Melbourne. He collaborated also with the Centre Georges Pompidou and with the Cultural Ministry of France and Japan.  Among his recent publications are Fotografie 1960-2000 (2001) and Paesaggi Landscapes (2003).
He has been signed for numerous publicity campaigns, as Fiat, Volkswagen, Volvo, Versace, Canon, Kodak.
He works with time-life magazine, like Vogue U.S.A., Vogue France, Frankfurter Allgemeine, Epoca and many more distinguished publications.
His work has been published in more than 40 books in various editions in Italian, Japanese, French, German, Swiss, English and Spanish. His numerous awards include the 1989 Tokyo Photographer Society of Japan - The 150 Years of Photography - Photographer Award.
