Otherwise the Loneliness

2015-05-21
Saturday, June 6, from 6 PM, opens the exhibition:

Otherwise the Loneliness.

The exhibition presents an attentive selection of international artists, historic and contemporary, to the young talents. They are: Mimmo Paladino, Mimmo Rotella, Ioan Sbarciu; Liu Bolin, Vincenzo Balsamo, Marco Cingolani, Maurizio Galimberti; Angela Corti, Marcello De Angelis, Ettore Frani, Silvia Inselvini.   Three generations compared, through selected works that belong to photography, painting and sculpture, to try to think about the choice of language and the creative process, the significance of the choice of aesthetic language and on the identification of an iconography that is alphabet and research’s journey. Otherwise the Loneliness: the title, with bitter irony, tells the contradictions of the artist's work, the loneliness of choice, the need for insulation and at the same time the comparison with the story, the persistence in the testing of materials, the subtle relationship between the expressive necessity and the translation in material and form.   From the icons of the cultural tradition of a territory reinvented by Mimmo Paladino, to the scenic disappearances by Liu Bolin; from ready-made of affection by Maurizio Galimberti, homages to the great names of contemporary art, to the processes of addition and subtraction of the image by Mimmo Rotella; from the lyrical figuration by Vincenzo Balsamo, to the poetic wilderness and burning lands by Ioan Sbarciu; from the injection painting by De Angelis, to the woven stones Angela Corti; from the embroideries and obsessive paintings by Silvia Inselvini, to the appearances from black by Ettore Frani.   The exhibition is therefore an important event for the international critics and collectors, confirming the will of IAGA to be lively cultural platform whose main objective is to develop and promote dialogue between the Italian and Eastern European contemporary art, thanks to the participation in art fairs, festivals and events of international contemporary art, looking at a possible future where cultural exchange and international dialogue is really the foundation upon which to build a long-term art projects. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog dedicated to the exhibition, with photos containing the site-specific installations made by artist, that it will be presented after the opening, with installation views and site-specific photographs.
