ThursdayOctober 29from 6 pm IAGA International Art Gallery Angels, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, opens to the public the international exhibition: MIHAI VRABIES. THE VOID EFFECT.   
The exhibition, dedicated to one of the most interesting emerging artists of Cluj-Napoca, shows an absolute novelty in the young international art, intending to reflect on the meaning of an artwork as object of consumption and communication through its emptying and its conceptual obscurity. 
The exhibition presents a path through the void, meaning elimination of the art object from the exhibition space, and thus stimulates the audience to question about the attraction to the work of art as consumer good and status symbol.   Ten empty picture frames on the walls, another work hidden in spaces not accessible to the public, and a kind of private diary of the artist in the form of phrases on the walls, written in his own hand, trying to tell the show, or rather to emphasize the absence, questioning the artist himself on his life and on his aesthetic experience. 
Mihai Vrabies will be present at the exhibition, ready to tell his research and his project, ready to “giving himselves” to the public that it is nothing more than hiding. Accentuates this ambivalent and ambiguous situation the presence in the spaces of the Gallery of the recorded voice of the same Vrabies, to emphasize even more the impossibility to know and to "own" truly a work of art, if not through the vacuum it creates.   
The theme is linked strongly to a complex path of the history of post-war operations between conceptual and meta-language: from Yves Klein to Piero Manzoni, the artist seeks the void as a place of regenerating a new aesthetic possibilities, criticizing the consumer society and the purely mercantilist approach and possessive of the public to the work of art. 
On the other hand, the use of written, oral and recorded, indicate the deep reflection of Vrabies about the art history, including the father of the conceptual art: Joseph Kosuth. 
A network of references that should be analyzed related to the specific place where the project is fully supported by the Gallery IAGA: Cluj Napoca, a city where is strong the confrontation between tradition and new artistic trends, where is strong also the re-think in terms often provocative the models, in a totalizing and vivifying remise en question the concept of a work of art. Starting from the void.  
The exhibition, curated by Ilaria Bignotti and Walter Bonomi, is therefore an important event for the international critics and collectors, confirming the will of IAGA to be lively cultural platform whose main objective is to develop and promote dialogue between the Italian and Eastern European contemporary art, thanks to the participation in art fairs, festivals and events of international contemporary art, looking at a possible future where cultural exchange and international dialogue is really the foundation upon which to build a long-term art projects.  
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog dedicated to the exhibition, with photos containing the site-specific installations made by artist, that it will be presented after the opening, with installation views and site-specific photographs.
